Our outcome from the crit..

Group 5's Input On Our Idea

by Roxxie Blackham

Had time to evaluate the other group's ideas, and then told on what we could improve and vice-versa.

Understanding Group 5's Idea

by Roxxie Blackham

Asked to conduct a short presentation of our idea to another group so that they understand what we plan our outcome to be like.

Final Logo

by Roxxie Blackham

Because I came up with the initial idea for the final logo, I was also asked to replicate the logo on illustrator, so that we could print it out and use the colours that we were using for the leaflet etc. I really like the idea for our logo, however if I were to create the logo again, I would spend more time perfecting the letters so that they fit into the circle really well and look even more psychedelic, as it annoys me that some of the letters are really bent on the left hand side, then they don't seem to do that on the right hand side as I didn't think it through properly..

Final Logo Sketch

This was my idea for our final logo. I decided to play around with the letters to make them look psychedelic and wiggly like a river, which I thought of because of the word meander. I quite like the way the letters are stretched out and distorted, as it will grab your attention due to the fact the logo will be quite different to something you're used to usually seeing. Once created on illustrator, I think the logo will work really well for the concept and will be easily recognisable.

Initial Logo Ideas

In a group, we decided that everyone had to come up with at least 6 ideas for our logo/sticker that we were going to be placing around Leeds. I thought about the use of direction in my logos, hence the arrows and triangles pointing in the direction in which you were to walk. I also thought about using the pinpoint symbol that you see on a lot of online maps like googlemaps, however this could become quite confusing as the little triangle would need to move about the circle to represent different directions, otherwise people may get confused and think that they have to go somewhere below the image.

Ideas..

We sat down in our group and came up with ideas for how we were going to inform people of where they need to go to get from LCA to the city centre by foot. Our final idea was to create stickers that were then stuck on several lamp posts and poles along the pavement, directing the viewer where to go next until they reach the final destination: costa.

We also thought that we would need to create either a Facebook page or a blog so that we knew that the idea was working amongst those who were interested. This could also be used to give more information and maps on how to get to other places in Leeds.
